Taos is a great place to vacation with your family because there is so much to see and do. When you take a family ski vacation, you want wholesome fun and the time spent together to be rewarding. Taos is full of interesting, educational, life-enhancing and exciting activities: whether you are skiing, ice skating, tubing, snowmobiling, hot air ballooning, or exploring new cultures, this vacation will be an experience you won't soon forget. Taos Ski Valley is the family fun leader and this year with improvements to our "Out-to-Launch" Terrain Park, our Teen Center, and regularly scheduled evening activities, Taos is even more of a great family destination than ever.
The Ernie Blake Ski School is consistently voted the best in the country and will have your children and young adults enjoying the mountain right from the start. Our programs are all-inclusive to give you maximum value. Check out our Kinderkäfig Children's Center here. You can also reserve a space in the ski school programs here: Click here to reserve online.
Every Wednesday through Saturday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm bring out the child in everyone on our tubing hill. We'll supply the tubes, you supply the laughs. The $7 fee allows you unlimited rides each night.
Our Teen Center is open this season! There are video games, couches, a TV, and vending machines with snacks and drinks. This is truly a place the kids can call their own to play games or just hang out. The Teen Center is open from 11:00am to 8:00pm seven days a week.
NASTAR® racecourse is where you can all show off your skills. Located underneath Lift #7, TSV offers coin-op racing on NASTAR® dual racecourses from 10:00am to 3:00pm Wednesday through Sunday, weather permitting. Race information and registration is available at the Ski School desk.
Big Al offers guided snowmobile tours to the peaks and ridges above Taos Ski Valley, an adventure the entire family will enjoy and treasure. Experience some of the most beautiful spots and spectacular views on the planet. To make reservations contact Al at (505) 751-6051.
Taos Pueblo presents a view into the past and the vast traditions of the Tiwa Indians. For over 1,000 years Taos Pueblo has been welcoming visitors. Experience Christmas Eve with their customary Vespers and Bonfires, a magnificent walk through the village with blazing bonfires lighting your way. Then on Christmas Day, enjoy the tradition of the Deer Dance, a unique celebration that is a must-see. For more information check out their website: www.taospueblo.com.
Taos has many quality museums to visit as well. For just $20, you can visit all seven Taos museums with one discounted ticket. The ticket will be honored for one full year from the date of purchase. And it's transferable - so pass it on to a friend if you don't have time to visit all the museums. Ask at any of the seven locations. The following website offers links to each museum and shows hours of operation: Taos Chamber Business Guide
Hot air ballooning is a magical way to experience the scenic beauty of Taos. Trips start in the Rio Grande Gorge and head whichever way the wind blows. As you are floating above it all you will be watching something that Taos is famous for, its beautiful sunrise.
